Holy cow those two years were worth it...

Jesus, this is one of the finest night shots I've seen.

I'm amazed it doesn't have more attention!

I have to admit I suggested it for a DD.

It would have made it but apparently you were featured recently.

A shame, but I'm glad at least one of this series made it :)

Thank you very much.
For the settings this is lots of ISO, a fast aperture and a long exposure.

More. But go outside and have a test, this is the best way to find the best settings. And exploring is always better than receiving all the formula, no ? ;)

I agree :D but some hints and tips can help me explore :) and given the fantastic photos you have i thought where better to ask then here. May i ask how did you plan those photos? with the help of a program such as stellarium or?
tnx for the friendly response btw :)

For example a classic setting is : 3200ISO, f/2.8, 30 sec, 11mm (16mm FF).
But first of all you have to be in the mountains and fare from the cities.

Yes, Stellarium is helpful. But with the time you know quite well the sky.

stay far from the cities if i want to avoid light pollution, if i understand correctly? does the temperature play some role in the clarity of the air?

PS:
thank you for your patience with my questions :highfive:

Yes, to avoid or minimize light pollution.
Not really, but a dry air is way better.

You're welcome.

Nice. I want to try something similar too, in the mountains, the stars are extremly better to see than in the flat country.

An effort well worth the wait, I'd say. A gorgeous thing to witness, let alone capture so well on film.

looks very good, the horn is kind of dark.

Why are the reflected stars blurred (due to their motion I assume) and those on the sky are crystal clear?

Thanks. A reflect is never crystal clear, and you can see it very well with the stars, more than with other objects.
